In the government conference hall of Budapest 8th District, Qingpu delegation members and those in charge of the relevant departments of the 8th District held a forum where the two sides exchanged opinions about the two districts’ conditions.Members who attended the forum include: Li Kezhen- supervisor of the consular section of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, Zhu Yunping- director of China division of the Industrial Park Committee of Hungarian National Economic Ministry, Egry Attila and Sántha Péterné-two vice mayors of Budapest 8th District government, Zentai Oszkar- director of the HR committee of the 8th district councils as well as some other major relevant officials such as council members, mayor consultant, mayor secretary, etc.; Zhao Huiqin-secretary of Qingpu PartyCommitteee, Sun Ting- district office director, and Hou Xiaotian- secretary of the Construction Committee.

The two sides carried out a thorough conversation on the construction and development of the two districts’ regional economy, humanities and culture, education and environmental protection. A promotional video revealing Qingpu economic and social development shocked vice mayor, Egry Attila. She said, “At first sight I mistook it as New York, but later when I viewed the Chinese geographical and humanity introduction, I had to admit that it is Shanghai Qingpu, so beautiful a city covered with a lot of green vegetation. I can’t find any indication about its water and air quality problems. Obviously both Qingpu and the 8th District pay much attention to environmental protection. I long for an opportunity to visit Qingpu where I could enjoy its beauty in person.”

After the view of the video about the 8th District’sconditions, Zhao Huiqin said, the bilateral friendship had a long history. Timehas witnessed the close exchanges between the government and the civil.Last year, Qingpu sent a delegation for a visit to the 8th District.I believe there is still much space for better and deeper cooperation anddevelopment between the two sides on which a hope is placed to establishlong-term strategic cooperativepartnership.

Cao Weiming- director of the Qingpu cultural radio and television authority, Zhang Lingyun- chairman of Qingpu Development (Group) Co., Ltd had a deep discussion with Sántha.Péterné and Zentai.Oszkar on problems relating to historical and cultural heritage, how to improve public cultural cultivation and how to strengthen the integration and development of bilateral tourism resources and projects.

Li Kezhen said at the forum, Hungary and Shanghai have an indissoluble bound. Hudec, a master Hungarian architect, created hundreds of buildings in Shanghai, which has witnessed the friendship between the two peoples. Shanghai Qingpu, the core area of the Yangtze River Delta, has a strong location advantage, while the 8th District is also a successful example in Budapest economic transformation. A solid foundation is laid for extensive cooperation in many aspects between the two districts and the embassy is willing to be a bridge for their exchange and cooperation.

Zhu Yunping hosted the forum and took charge of the translation work during the whole process. Zhu Yunping finally made a short Chinese-Hungarian bilingual speech. He said, in order to comply with the Hungarian government’ new national strategy "Opening to the East", the Industrial Park Committee of Hungarian National Economy Ministry has set up the China Division which is mainly responsible for the introduction to the Chinese of Hungarian investing environment and provides investment advisory information to Chinese investors and Chinese enterprises settled in Hungary and helps Chinese enterprises with the integration of all aspects of the local resources so as to achieve an effective link with the 8th District. Zhu Yunping said that the China Division is willing to offer comprehensive coordination and positive support for the two districts’cooperation
