On December 8th, 2017, Decoration Concrete Branch, China Concrete & Cement-Based Products Association held its 2017 Annual Meeting & General Assembly in Zhejiang Haining Green Building International Convention Center. About 80 people attended the meeting, including President on duty Xiong Jiru and Zhang Baogui, Director of the Expert Committee Guo Xueming, Senior Consultant Pan Zhiqiang, Vice President Lei Xinzhong, Jian Tingzai, Zhang Yubo and Yuan Jianhua, Secretary-general Shang Yanqing, Deputy Secretary General Che Yanfei, and many council member representatives. President on duty Zhang Baogui and Director Guo Xueming hosted the meeting where Shen Bing, Deputy Secretary General of China Concrete & Cement-Based Products Association delivered a speech. The meeting deliberated and approved the 1st Council’s work report, revision notes relating to work rules as well as a list of vice presidents and members consisted of the new council. Four presidents were elected to be on duty in turns in the following 4 years.

President on duty Xiong Jiru, as a representative of the 1st council, first delivered a work report which stated that since Decorative Concrete Branch was founded, under the guidance of CCPA, the cooperation of all council members, and the efforts by the Secretariat, many events had been carried out so that the decorative concrete industry enjoyed healthy development, such as three sessions of China Decorative Concrete Design Contest, two sessions of China International Conference on Decorative Concrete Technology and Application, numerous profession trainings as well as overseas visits and exchanges. Those events had strong impact on the decorative concrete industry both at home and abroad, well received among members. As a result, the Branch keeps growing with more and more members joining in.
Then Director of Expert Committee Guo Xueming presented a work summary that briefly retrospected such main work carried out by the committee in the previous 4 years as providing the Branch with professional advice and academic support in holding meetings, drawing up industry technical essentials, publishing professional reference books relating to GRC and PC, serializing feature articles in the mainstream media, taking the lead to organizing thematic training activities, and others. With regard to the following work, he suggested setting a world-class pattern, expanding to a bigger market and developing a close-knit organization. In conclusion, he encouraged technical exchanges between members and declared that the Committee would give full support when it is necessary.

Liu Hui, Board Chairman of Shanghai Zhuoou Construction & Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd, was elected as a vice president of the Branch. He saw the Association as a platform for communication and exchanges and made it clear that Zhuoou would spare no effort to contribute most to the industry development by attaching great importance to constant innovation and quality control.

A report on the development of decorative concrete industry in 2017 was given by Senior Consultant Pan Zhiqiang, which revealed the remarkable progress in decorative concrete technology and application, such as PC, folk architecture, rural reconstruction and new urbanization. Intelligence, originality, green building and sharing has currently become the key to the industry development. Creative home crafts fabricated from decorative concrete have increasingly aroused general concern. The industry, still in its formative years, is enjoying a healthy and stable growth. The current strategy is to seize opportunities of green sustainable development, “One Belt One Road”, PC as well as charasteristic town construction while resolving difficulties as the industry progresses by virtue of wisdom,creativity and concept of green building sharing.
Then it was followed by a report presented by Secretary General Shang Yanqing, which contained survey information on European decorative concrete technology and application. She said the concrete industry was in a critical period of structural adjustment and upgrading, and faced with a severe challenge of supply-side structural reform. This situation decided the main developing trend of the industry, that is, to achieve sustainable development by positively embracing the national development goal of vigorously pushing forward PC and green building, and depending on innovation-driven force. During the trip to Europe this time, the delegation visited relevant enterprises and scientific research institutions in Finland, Netherlands and France and delved into the lastest achievements in such fields as prefabricated concrete devices, decorative concrete art film, self-healing concrete and 3D printing technology.This trip played an active role in broadening people’s horizons, promoting communication and cooperation and building up confidence among enterprises.
After the meeting, the delegates were shown around East China Green Building & Materials Experience Museum which lies in Haining, Zhejiang. It is the first platform in China to provide all-year 24-hours offline comprehensive services in green building and materials, where more than 1,000 boots are set up in the display space covering 50,000 sqm. In the Experience Museum, you can enjoy live show, participate in meetings, forums and recreational activities. By irregularly scheduled summits, new product launch events, technical exchange meetings, temporary theme exhibitions and so forth, the Experience Museum integrates upstream and downstream resources and bridges counterparts for communication and cooperation.
